Marline
Launched in 1974 from Cammengas Jacht in Holland and designed by Wim de Vries, Marline is a classic schooner epitomizing vintage yachting elegance. Initially owned by the CEO of Moulinex and later by Christina Onassis, she graced the Mediterranean and Seychelles. After revitalization by a Mauritian consortium and further restoration in 2018, Marline now rests in Mauritius, poised for a new chapter blending history and timeless beauty.
Launched in Wormeveer, Holland in 1974, “Marline” was handed over to the owner, CEO of Moulinex.
Thereafter she spent the next decade in the Mediterranean before being purchased by Christina Onassis in 1985.
Under her ownership she remained in the Mediteranean for a couple of years before being moved to the Seychelles. Following her untimely death in 1988 the yacht was laid up for 4 years.
In 2015, the sailboat was bought by a consortium of 12 Mauritian owners, it was revamped for six months, before making three fishing trips to Saint-Brandon and returning to cross four months in the Seychelles. In 2018 the vessel was further restored.
In 2021, the MARLINE is sold and shortly thereafter sold again to the current owner in 2022.
Marline was designed by Dutch designer Wim de Vries and was a significant statement in superyachts of the period with her lines standing the test of time leaving her as an absolute period Classic. Construction was by Cammengas Jacht en Scheepswerf BV, Wormerveer, Holland, where she was built to a standard and using materials no longer viable in the modern world.
In these terms, she is a true classic.
